We chose Merino Wool because it's a Super Hero
Australian Merino Wool really is the Super Hero of natural fibres. It's why we chose it for the covering of the Serenity HLP mattress.
It's incredibly hard wearing and flexible - it can be bent and bent over and over —up to 20,000 times —before it breaks. That’s a lot of bending.
It is also a strong fabric and has been compared to steel (in its strength not its feel).
Wool is also not a one season fabric. It’s more like those hot / cold mugs that keep hot beverages hot and cold beverages cold.
Wool has tiny air pockets that allow the fabric to breathe and insulate. In the winter these pockets hold heat from your body.
In the summer this breathable fabric helps air circulates and also wicks away moisture from your body helping you to sleep cooler.
Warm and cool
In contrast to synthetics, Merino Wool is an active fibre that reacts to changes in body temperature. So it helps you stay warm when the weather is cold and cool when the weather is hot.
Natural elasticity helps Merino wool stretch with you, yet return to it's original shape. A perfect material for sleeping on.
In contrast to synthetic materials, Merino wool can absorb moisture vapour which means less sweat on your body. Merino wool even absorbs the odour molecules from sweat, which are only released upon washing.
Merino wool fibres have a natural protective outer layer that helps prevent stains from being absorbed. And because Merino wool tends not to generate static, it attracts less dust and lint.
Soft on skin
Merino wool fibres are extremely fine, enabling them to bend far more than traditional, coarser wool fibres. This makes Merino wool feel soft and luxuriously gentle next to your skin.
Most importantly it's incredibly comfortable to sleep on.
Easy to care for
Our Merino wool cover can be machine-washed. We also made the cover removable and easy to keep clean with a cold machine wash.
Bet your current mattress doesn't do that!
